We hope you have a safe and fun-filled Labor Day Weekend, Janice! With your last post on our message board, You have now qualified as a Heartwood Mega-Fan, and are eligible for an extra huge bunch of mistletoe this Christmas!
 Janice Beaver   August 27, 2008, 2:57 pm
And it rained and rained and rained and rained and the trees fell and fell and fell and fell. I guess you guys have really got your work cut out for you now and then some. Nothing like job security. Have a safe Labor Day.
 Stephan   July 17, 2008, 11:38 pm
John, I know you are Mr. X. Your IP address for your computer gave you away. Why don't we work on the PHC page in St. Louis? We can put up a cool portfolio of you doing drill tests and cambistating everything. Maybe some soft music in the background....
 Mr. X   July 16, 2008, 11:54 am
Where's you PHC page with cool pictures?
 Noreen Geroge   July 9, 2008, 10:22 am

Hey there good people of heartwood.. hope you all are keeping well.. kinda miss being there.. (",)
 Stephan   May 13, 2008, 11:03 pm
Yesssssssss! Our first electronic newsletter was released to the Heartwood faithful around the world. We sent it out to 176 people, one of which was my mother (happy belated Mother's Day, Mom!), and I think we sent one to Kenny Rogers - The Gambler. He's kind of a hero of mine. Kind of.
 Koeloe Basson   May 5, 2008, 10:31 pm
Congrats Simon. You deserve the win and all the hard work is paying off. Keep up the good work!
 Stephan   May 5, 2008, 6:56 am
Congratulations Simon! Winner of the Warren Wilson College Tree CLimbing Championship! SImon competed against some of the best climbers in the South, and had his best TCC ever! What fun to watch my little bro finally win a Masters Challenge!
 Heartwood   April 30, 2008, 4:50 pm
We keep the squirrels from burying us by killing them first. Preemptive strike, sort of. Shock and Awe. Shock and Awe.
 Robbi   April 30, 2008, 10:37 am
Since you guys are all clearly, well, NUTS, how do you keep the squirrels from burying you?
 Heartwood   April 22, 2008, 8:21 pm
You are very welcome, Mayla! We enjoyed being able to provide you with such a great rope swing! Send us a picture of you on the swing, and we'll put it up on this page!
 Mayla C. Conroy   April 19, 2008, 8:42 am
Wow oh Wow!!!! You guys came to my home and put in the neatest, coolest , bestest and superest rope swing ever ! The harness keeps me safe and and Mom is enternally grateful. The wind in my hair and on my face feels so beautiful. I cannot stop smiling. I get on my swing even before breakfast with my pajamas on. Thank you for keeping me safe and fixing me such a special place to play. How did you get so high up in the tree? I love you all. Love, Mayla C. Conroy P.S. Mom says the work you did on the other trees was teriffic. And we will see you in the fall.
 Jan Beaver   April 17, 2008, 7:03 am
Good morning, all. After hearing the dilema of the lady who was about to have her shade tree mutliated by Duke's tree "choppers", I had to write. Thanks to you folks, I have the most gorgeous willow oaks in THE WHOLE WIDE WORLD. My daddy marked these trees for us in the woods behind his house in 1970 after we bought our house. He and my husband dug them up in January of 1971 and we planted them. They are very important to me now because my daddy picked them out and he is not living anymore. Normally "tree people" are not artists, but I have remarked numerous times that my trees are like a picture. That is because Heartwood people are artists. Pat George, you know that PK is the one I have to thank for my beautiful trees as he is the one who told me to call you back years ago. I will never let any other tree service touch my trees. YOU ARE THE BEST.....
 ADMIN   April 11, 2008, 10:13 pm
There is a rumor going around the Arboricultural circles that Freedom Park is going to be the site of one of the World's coolest Tree Climbing Championships on April 19th and 20th, 2008.

It's just what we heard.
 Tyler   March 26, 2008, 8:18 pm
Tommy looks tough in the picture. He needs more leather and tats though to make it better
 Stephan   March 24, 2008, 10:33 pm
Photo of Tommy on his Harley courtesy of Tommy's girlfriend. Tommy was too shy to give me the pictures. I'm thinking of taking Tommy's Corner down, just to shake things up. Maybe bring it back "live" after the CAA Tree Climbing Championship, April 19-20, at Freedom Park.
 ADMIN   March 20, 2008, 12:57 pm
Tommy's Corner will remain up due to the fact that he is going to compete in the Charlotte Competition, and will have the opportunity to totally redeem himself in the throwball competition. However, if he fails to score any points in the throwball competition, he will have some serious convincing to do to keep his page alive. I also need pictures from Tommy of him on his new Harley.
 Tyler   March 18, 2008, 11:23 pm
Thanks to the hospitality of the Heartwood crew in Knoxville. It was good times. I think Tommy's corner needs to be suspended due to his lack of throw ball skills at 4 a.m.
 Peggy Dickson   March 12, 2008, 12:59 am
Hey Pat and Noreen. Love the pictures. We appreciate the great work your company does and your service to the Charlotte community.
 John   March 7, 2008, 2:49 pm
I miss Paul already, dealing with separation anxiety is not my strong point.
 Stephan   March 6, 2008, 9:38 pm
Hi Janice, and thanks all for the congrats! Carmen and I are super excited, maybe I got a little too excited, because I couldn't hold the secret in and told everyone at work. Now the whole world knows and I couldn't be more happy!
Stephan at the Spring Show   March 1, 2008, 5:45 pm
I finally got down here to the show! The booth looks great, but I got into the MANKEY cage, and I heard a crack when I tied in. Gulp.
 Stephan   February 29, 2008, 6:23 pm
Heather, The Charlotte Arborists Association's Tree Climbing Championship will be at Freedom Park April 19 and 20, 2008. This year is going to be bigger and better than ever! All of our clients on the email list will definitely get a heads up before the event. Simon and Jeff are competing for sure, and we are trying to convince Tommy to give it a shot!
 Noreen George   February 29, 2008, 9:23 am
Stephan! Loving the website and all the great photos and info! You guys & ladies at Heartwood ARE the best. Can't wait to visit the Mankey at the spring show! Sincerely, Noreen
 heather zanzig   February 28, 2008, 5:53 pm
hey guys,

can you tell me when the charlotte tree climbing competition is? i'm trying to plan and my slackard husband keeps forgetting to look up the date for me... thanks!
 Tommy   February 27, 2008, 8:01 pm
It's ok John. Stephan, I love it!
 John   February 27, 2008, 1:28 pm
This Spring Show is fun! Hanging in the Mankey Cage!
 John   February 24, 2008, 12:02 pm
Sorry Tommy, I forgot all about that! You're right, you are the best. Please forgive me.
 tommy   February 22, 2008, 12:19 pm
I feel that my snowboard skills speak for themselves, you can talk about it all day on the message board but when it comes down to it, John you know who is the best. Remeber the time I did the rodeo 1080 over your head at snowshoe........haha SICK!
 Stephan   February 21, 2008, 1:28 pm
Hey John, you forgot to mention that I came in during the last two hours of that job and lent my valuable espalier skillz to the effort! One of my biggest joys is being able to work on an espaliered tree over a number of years. I had a lot of fun working with you guys!
 John   February 21, 2008, 11:06 am
Yesterday, Jeff and I spent all day performing specialized pruning for a long time client and it was a blast. We did alot of pollarding, shrub pruning, and worked on creating a few espaliers. It looked so good when we left and the jobsite was immaculate due to Billy's diligence. I love my job!
 Stephan   February 12, 2008, 10:41 pm
Recreational Tree Climbing Extravaganza this weekend at my house! We will be practicing for Tree Climbing Competitions that are coming up this spring. Simon and Jeff have got to show and prove at the Southern Chapter TCC in Knoxville! Go Team Heartwood!
 Michael George   February 12, 2008, 10:38 pm
More legends of the PG here....

 John Parmenter   February 9, 2008, 10:51 am
WOW! The vault photos!!! more please....................
 Stephan   February 8, 2008, 11:44 am
John, this is not the forum to discuss my snowboarding skills. The reason why I only tumbled down the mountain once is because I was afraid I was going to break a bone or something. Snowboarding and Water-Boarding are both examples of torture, and should be outlawed.
 ADMIN   February 8, 2008, 11:41 am
Thanks for the kind words, Janice. We will definitely look forward to working on your beautiful Willow Oaks next year.
 Janice Beaver   February 8, 2008, 8:39 am
Guys, you did a terrific job on my neighbor's willow oaks. They are exactly like I want them. During all the high winds this week, there was nothing blowing our of their trees into my backyard. I know that they will never be beautiful trees (like mine) because they are practically planted on top of each other. Stupid people. They plant a little thing, not realizing how big they will get. You people out there who are planning on planting willow oaks, they get very big. Ask Heartwood. They can tell you. Stephan, get me on your schedule for January 2009. Hopefully, I will still be around by then. HAVE A HAPPY VALENTINES DAY.
 John   February 8, 2008, 8:19 am
Stephan, you didn't see anybody do anything, because if my memory serves me right, you attempted one run and retreated to the cozy cabin!

OH SNAP!
 ADMIN   February 6, 2008, 8:41 pm
You're welcome for the page, Tommy. I wonder how many people are going to be able to find it. John, no one saw you doing a rail slide, so just let it go. Tommy is the best, hands down, just like it says on his page.
 John   February 5, 2008, 2:23 pm
I'm not sure that Tommy is the best snowboarder at Heartwood, I didn't see him slide any rails like I did!

How high can you ollie...and how many 360's can you do?
 Tommy   February 4, 2008, 5:33 pm
Tommy's Corner Rocks!!!
 Stephan   February 2, 2008, 8:25 pm
The climbing was great! We finally got into the 200+ year old Southern Red Oak in the woods behind my house! What a view! I'll put some pictures of our climb up soon! And John, this is not the place to talk about painting your spare bedroom.

No wait, this kind of is a place for that. How'd it come out?
 John   February 2, 2008, 3:11 pm
Well, it's Saturday, the sun is shining, it's warm, and the Heartwood Boyz are practicing for the climbing competition at Stephan's house right now. What am I doing you ask? I'm painting my spare bedroom....'Awesome!'
 John   January 31, 2008, 7:58 pm
I just wanted to say hi to the many new friends that I made in sunny Florida at the "Geezers '08" tree climbing competition!

Special Thanks to SCOTTY & JOANN!

 kris solow   January 15, 2008, 7:43 pm
i must say, patrick, you beat ric to the punch with launching a website! his fire has been lit! i keep telling people, who ask me for a good tree service company, that heartwood is THE BEST! and your employee family is THE BEST! you have been caring for our trees for a number of years now and it amazes me every time i watch your crew deftly choreograph their way through the canopy of a tree, and the extreme care they take in every facet of their work, be it pruning, feeding, deadwooding, or just plain admiring. thanks for taking such good care of our family of trees.
 Jitka   January 15, 2008, 3:30 pm
You keep me young @ heart and my clients trees cut down or alive!!
Thanks
 Jeffrey Fabian   January 14, 2008, 9:07 pm

 Maggie Dunne   January 5, 2008, 11:14 am
Hi Guys,
Went through the whole site and I must say what a great job you did with information about your company, services, etc.. I really liked the video Patrick did, and also learned some things about trees. The lightening insurance, would that work here in South Florida? Any way, Great Job!!!!!!!

Maggie
 Noreen George   January 4, 2008, 9:30 pm

 AJ   January 4, 2008, 8:33 pm
Wow!! Thanks for the great picture of me flying from the Fert Rig. I had forgot about that awesome experience. Heartwood is the best thing to ever happen in my life!
 Susan Spencer   January 4, 2008, 5:07 pm
Like the new website, you guys do a great job. I always thought getting the mistletoe that you leave at Christmas was nice but next year in lieu of that I'd rather come to the Christmas party!
 stephan   January 3, 2008, 8:57 pm
And I might add that my nephew is familiar with about a dozen local tree services, so his endorsement is for real.
 Janice Beaver   January 2, 2008, 4:15 pm
Patrick and Stephan - Happy New Year. Some of my neighbors were passing my house some weeks ago when I was doing leaf work. They told me that I had the prettiest trees in the entire neighborhood. I said "Thank Heartwood Tree Service for that. Stephen, please give me a call so that I can meet with you before your guys come to do Mr. Cross's trees. I am planning to do them all that are in his front yard and I would like to discuss with you. Call me at work so that we can set up a time to meet.
 PK   January 2, 2008, 3:03 pm
Spoony's Christmas card was [censored] (edited by Heartwood)
 Craig Errington   January 2, 2008, 1:10 pm
Good work,keep it up....
 Stephan   January 2, 2008, 1:03 pm
Man, this is one cool website! I can't believe there is a message board where people can leave messages about how much they love Heartwood!

I certainly love Heartwood, and my 6 year old nephew says that Heartwood is the best.
