First day at Heartwood: December 17, 1997.  Started the day off being introduced to his crew by his brother, who had been working at Heartwood for over a year.  His brother told him Randy's name was "Wendy" (because Randy had trouble pronouncing the letter "r", when he said his name, it sounded like "wandy").  Simon spent the rest of the day calling him Wendy, until someone told him the truth.  Kids were so gullible back in those days.

Ongoing Education: ISA Certified Arborist, ISA Certified Tree Worker, Certified Tree Care Safety Professional, Certfied Mauget Tree Injector This is Simon in Baltimore at a Tree Conference.  He learned quite a bit that day.  Quite a bit indeed.

Background: Big time Dead-head who also loves Phish.  Loves the hippy lifestyle, but not the smell.  Facilitates "deer awareness" classes out of the blue.  He loves deer, and inexpensive deer related merchandise.  Simon won the first annual Warren Wilson College TCC in 2008.  Simon is ranked in the top ten climbers in the Southern Chapter ISA after competing this year in Shreveport, LA.

Hobbies: Playing guitar.  Throwing the pigskin.  Calling my brother, the Skeeter, or "the Skeet-Bag" to see what the deal.  Madden football on Playstation 1 (2003 Edition, where Kordell Stewart still plays on the Steelers squad and hooks up with Plaxico Burress on a regular basis)
