Working on Heartwood's first job removing Pine trees with business partner Lance Hughes (who was bought out two months later when he fell in love and moved, and Pat paid for the other half of the chainsaw and ropes that they had purchased). They finished the job without incident, got paid, and Pat knew that this was the life for him.
